(Limit 2 passes per person. Passes do not guarantee admission. Theater is overbooked to ensure capacity. Seating is on a first come, first seated basis. ARRIVE EARLY.)

In select theaters November 4th Rated R Synopsis Elizabeth Olsen stars in director Sean Durkin’s psychological thriller, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, about a young woman who undergoes an explosive crisis of identity after escaping the confines of a rural cult-like farming community. Trapped by unsettling flashes of memories from the past and visions of a perilous future, she becomes taken over by an unsettling sense of fear, leaving her consumed by paranoia and a mysterious burden of guilt. The film, winner of the Best Director Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Prix de la Jeunesse, begins with Martha (Elizabeth Olsen in her feature film debut) running from an idyllic farmhouse into the woods of Upstate New York. Terrified, and with nowhere to turn, she calls the estranged sister she hasn’t seen in years (Sarah Paulson), and suddenly finds herself in a lush, lakeside Connecticut summerhouse with Lucy and her new husband Ted (Hugh Dancy). Yet, the beauty and comfort of Martha’s new surroundings clash with everything she is feeling as a secret fugitive from an unexplainable world, and so long away from society’s rules, she is unable to act in a way others find normal. Martha may have run away, but she still is held captive by memories that slowly, devastatingly, begin to creep up on her.

Seeping into her fledgling new life, revealing all that she has been through, from the innocent desire for familial love that brought her to a secluded farm commune to her chilling relationship with the fatherly but manipulative community leader Patrick (John Hawkes). Building, until they expose the heart-stopping source of her mounting dread. The result is a closely observed tale of psychological suspense that is also an arresting meditation on identity, vulnerability and the hunger for family in forms both tender and dangerous.

Max Kauffman at Fashion Denver First Friday!

Come Dream in watercolor with Max Kauffman at Fashion Denver

We'll be giving this beautiful piece of art away on First Friday!

Denver, CO- Dreams are world where flying isn’t unrealistic, running at high speeds is the daily norm and encountering otherworldly beings seems to be your everyday experience. While many spend their nights cuddled up under their covers creating their own realm, local Denver artist Max Kauffman is wide-awake painting it into reality. Kauffman will be bringing his dreamscapes to the showroom of Fashion Denver on First Friday, November 4th from 5-9PM.

Highly influenced by visual folklore, Kauffman mainly utilizes watercolor, ink and an Italian watercolor named “gouache” to illustrate worlds on paper that are normally only seen in the subconscious. His recent series “Migrations” is a work that mirrors an ethereal point of view of the avian world. Throughout the evening, Kauffman will be debuting new pieces of artwork, his recent series, as well as showcasing other pieces for viewing and purchasing pleasure.

But, for those that are just itching to grasp a touch of his fantasy, fans and art lovers have a chance to enter a drawing for one of Kauffman’s pieces, which will continue until the evening of First Friday at 8:30PM at Fashion Denver.

His exhibitions have been featured in various art publications such as “Lost at E-Minor”, “Juxtapoz” and ”Beautiful/Decay Book: 6”. In addition, Kauffman’s artwork has been commissioned by high profile clients such as “Mountain Dew”, “Nike” and “Arbor” just to name a few.

An expression, elegance and affinity for the world that can only be fabricated by the mind, Kauffman has managed to reference both realism and idealism to create works that can be glimpsed by all during the waking time of day.

Come relish in Kauffman’s visions and delight yourself in a dream world unlike your own during an evening will bring fantasy into reality.

Join us on First Friday as we celebrate Max’s artwork! Enter to win this beautiful 2×2 piece of artwork when you stop by Fashion Denver and put your name in our little bucket of love. We’ll make the drawing at 8:30 on First Friday. You must be present to win!
