Happy Friday
everybody! What a week it's been at Fashion Denver! We've been busy
remodeling the showroom, installing new store fixtures, painting,
stripping the layers of paint to expose beautiful wood, hiring new
interns...wheeew! Everything is turned upside down but the upside
down in a fun and exciting way!
We'll be debuting
the new showroom next First
Friday!

This is a
pretty busy weekend on the social calendar. Tonight I'm breaking
out the rollerskates for the Creative Kegger party, tomorrow, guest
speaking at the community yarn event, then I am one of the judges
at the Miss Asian American contest, then our kickball game on Sunday.
Then it's Monday again! Oh my!
May your weekend
be full of sunshine and adventures!
Yours till
the cows come home,
Brandi S. Shigley
Lover of our creative city!

Creative collective
Illiterate and design studio, Trust, collaborate to host the new
Creative Kegger event series at Denver’s Cluster Studios.
Built around conceptual themes, these expansive community gatherings
transcend the standard fair party by combining education and entertainment.
Participation is the word for these interactive happenings. Dance,
play, converse, create, the line between audience and performer
blurs in the
multifaceted 22,000 square foot Cluster Studios warehouse.
On May 29,
2009, Creative Keggers 001: New York City Street Games transports
iconic neighborhood pastimes from the heart of the Empire State
to the heights of the Mile High City. In a warehouse turned NYC
streetscape, get raucous playing and learning high energy NYC recreatiaonal
traditions like Double Dutch, Hopscotch Basketball, Butts Up, and
Four Square alongside classic activities of chance and strategy
such as Skelzies, Chess, Checkers, Dominoes, Shell Game and Dice.
DJ’s Musa, Ginger Perry and Peter Black bring the nostalgic
sounds of the street back on the 1’s and 2’s for anyone
with old school moves. After working up an appetite on the court
or game board, come satisfy your cravings with a hotdog, gelatto
and a cold brew to wash it all down. Inspired by the theme? Submit
art, photography and writing to Illiterate’s online arts community
www.illiteratemedia.com for a chance to get published in the Creative
Kegger Scrapbook at www.creativekegger.com. Roll up your sleeves
put on your kicks and get ready to call next at Creative Keggers
001: New York City Street Games.

Dazzle’s
Swishing Party
Sunday, June 14, 4-6:30 p.m.
Dazzle Restaurant and Lounge
930 Lincoln Street, Denver CO 80203
‘Swish’
is the sound that silk makes when it rustles. Inspired by chic and
fun ‘swishing parties’ in London, Fresh City Life is
teaming up with Dazzle Jazz to bring you a fabulous party where
you’ll leave with your wallet intact and your outfit in style.
Here’s how it works: Come to Dazzle with a few pieces of high
quality clothing or accessories that you’d be proud to give
to a close friend. Enjoy a free wine tasting with nibbles provided
by Dazzle while you browse the fashions that others have brought
to swap. At the appointed hour (5:30 p.m. to be exact), the Swish
will begin. Claim your favored piece of fashion – if you get
there first! It’s all for fun so remember: no scratching,
spitting or biting. Party and display of swap items begins at 4
p.m. (please bring your items no later than 4:30 p.m.). And the
swank cats at Dazzle have got a great evening of entertainment planned,
so you can continue your evening there if you like! Swishing is
free and open to the public, but you must bring swappable fashion
to participate. For more info about Dazzle, go to dazzlejazz.com.
Please
RSVP online.
