Stranded Jewelry: Amelia Deleon
How would you describe the style of your designs?
I describe my style simply as ‘my own’.
Where do you gain inspiration from?
Inspiration is everywhere and in everything. Although I like to keep up with the latest trends, I try not to be too influenced by them. I like to think that my jewelry is fashionable yet timeless.
What’s the first piece you ever made? What’s the story behind the name of your line?
I’m petite, so my interest in jewelry started with me taking apart my own pieces to shorten or simplify them. The first piece I ever made from ‘scratch’ was a beaded anklet (they were really trendy back in the day).
What materials do you usually use?
All sorts of vintage/recycled parts and pieces mixed with beautiful new components such as crystals, pearls, semi-precious gemstones, silver, gold, and base metal.
Where can we find your designs?
You can find my jewelry at Fashion Denver, Denver Artisan, Bliss and Meow Meow (Boulder), Marmalade (Evergreen), on my website, and at some of your favorite local and mountain festivals.
If you could dress anyone in the world who would it be?
This is a tough question, I don’t really know. At this moment, I would have to say Natalie Portman. I adore her not only as a talented actress, but as a role model and humanitarian as well. Plus she has a killer neckline for modeling necklaces.
Do you have a website?
Yes indeed! www.strandedjewelry.com
And lastly, are there any fun facts that you’d like to include?
I also design jewelry for brides and bridal parties. More information is included on my website http://www.strandedjewelry.com/weddingandbridaljewelry.html
