1) Business name:
Morganic Designs. Accessories for the Modern Gypsy!
2) Mission of business.
My mission at Morganic Designs is to bring attention to the positive impacts of consciously crafted fashion, by remaining completely transparent about all aspects of how I operate my business. I know that by being aware & sharing my efforts to create a socially & environmentally friendly business, I can help fashionistas everywhere make more responsible decisions when investing in their wardrobe, & ultimately encourage future designers to consider how they can also build a sustainable brand.
3) How is your product / services helping the world be more green or sustainably conscious?
All of my designs are created using environmentally friendly & socially conscious materials, such as organic hemp & bamboo cord, certified fair trade gems & stones, as well as vintage & heirloom pieces from salvaged jewelry, & I always seek out local jewelry suppliers when I need other jewelry components. A portion of my profits are used to make financial contributions to non-profit organizations that have a positive impact on the world around us. I also strive to incorporate other “green” practices, even in my home studio, like using salvaged materials to build my displays & shipping items with recycled packaging materials. I fully believe in remaining transparent, so I always document my supply sources & processes in my public blog, & I always encourage buyers follow along with me in my sustainable business adventures in hopes to inspire others to make more conscious fashion choices.
4) What do you hope to get out of ReUP?
Since this will be my first market experience with Morganic Designs, I’m hoping to gain as much knowledge & experience as possible! I’d love to meet & connect with other designers who also share a passion for sustainable fashion!
5) Your personal Fashion inspirations?
I am a Modern Gypsy. I’m constantly looking for ways to combine classic, bohemian inspired styles with current, chic trends. I feel as though that reflects through my jewelry, & I hope to encourage those who wear my designs to also let their inner gypsy shine through!
6) 3 things if stranded on an island.
A surfboard. The entire discography of Cat Power. A plate of nachos.
7) What is your favorite thing about your brand?
I think my favorite aspect of my business is how organically everything has come together for me & my growing business over the past few years. I’ve built this brand totally from scratch & I’ve listened to my heart every step of the way, staying true to my mission. I also really love my logo, my best friend helped me design it!
