2012 changes at Fashion Denver!

One of the missions of Fashion Denver is to help grow our local fashion scene, to help our local independent designers grow their businesses, and to spread the word that Denver ain’t no cow town and we’ve got TONS going in in our fashion scene.

Fashion Denver started out as a business in 2004 strictly focusing on our seasonal fashion markets and business development. We opened up a retail shop in 2009 until now and since then it’s been such a fun adventure! However, one of the things that I am most passionate about has gone by the wayside…

The past 2 weeks I have been doing a lot of consultations with future entrepreneurs. One of the most important things that I say to them is to “Stop doing what you don’t love to do, and focus on the things that you truly love!” As I would say this, I found in my heart not getting fulfilled with what I truly LOVE to do, which is consulting, small business development, my “Do what you love. Love what you do” workshops, and event production.

I woke up Wednesday and knew that I had to make a decision and that decision is to close the retail side of Fashion Denver and turn it into my “Do what you love” headquarters where I can put all of my focus into my passions and the things that I truly love to do.

The evolution of the Fashion Denver space will  include my office, an event space for “pop up” shops, private trunk shows, and workshops.  I will continue to do the Fashion Denver quarterly fashion markets, fashion show production, and most importantly, be able to work with our designers and entrepreneurs on a one-on-one basis.

I’m so excited for this epiphany and our designers have shown such an overwhelming amount of support.

We’re going to make January a kick ass month at Fashion Denver and close it out with a bang, with a celebratory open house on January 28th that will turn into a big party!

2012 is going to be a pretty epic year, I can already tell!!  I have to remember the quote that I tell the people who take my workshops…. “Those who step outside their comfort zones to pursue their dreams, will always find true happiness.”

Cheers to a prosperous new year and keep doing what you love and TRULY loving what you do!

We love this piece of art created by Ratha of Rawh Expressions! We'll be doing a huge event with them in the spring and we're thrilled!
