The Joseph Family Foundation and Tempus Jets Present
Urban Nights Denver
Bank of America Runway to Shine with Nicholas K and Salt-N-Pepa

Denver, CO (April 3, 2017) – The fifth annual Urban Nights Denver prepares to celebrate its fifth year at Mile High Station on Saturday, August 5th. The city’s largest outdoor urban fashion show and fundraiser will benefit at-risk youth with the theme: Threads of Promise.

Donna Crafton Montgomery serves as this year’s Gala Chair and is supported by co-chairs Jill Landman Alfond, Matthew Keeney and Matthew Morris.

“On any given night in Denver, more than 900 youth are homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless,” said Donna Crafton Montgomery, 2017 Urban Nights Chair. “This year, we are thrilled to add new beneficiaries that expand our reach into this vulnerable population providing a wide range of services that these kids need to obtain self-sufficiency and a safe life off the streets.”

This year’s charity partners include Urban Peak, The Danny Dietz Foundation and La Academia at The Denver Inner City Parish. All with the shared vision of providing critical services to the at-risk youth that each organization serves.

This year’s fashion show, designed and produced by Jenny Baker-Strasburg and Tobie Orr, will feature works from the Art Institute of Colorado and Suit Supply. The fashion show will be anchored by NYFW darling, Nicholas K, “Built from Scratch” Fall/Winter 2017.

In addition to delivering another fashion spectacle, this year’s event will feature 90s rap and fashion icons, Salt-N-Pepa!

The event will be held at Mile High Station — under the canopy of the Colfax Avenue viaduct —with The VIP party commencing at 6:00 pm, general admission opens at 7:00 pm and the program begins at 7:30 pm. Salt-N-Pepa hit the stage at 9. The show will be followed by an after-party until midnight.

Thread of Promise:

From far away, they might just blend into the crowd.
Maybe they have a home to go to, albeit broken.
Maybe they have a school to attend, albeit unsafe.
They might even have a few dollars stashed away for a rainy day
(If only they could keep them).
But take a closer look and you’ll see
They’re just hanging on by a thread.

But it’s that thread that connects us all.
This year, not one, but three, organizations have come together.
Intertwined to advance the basic needs of Colorado’s at-risk youth, beyond survival.

Urban Nights unique fashion spectacle
Works to create a new fabric.
One that connects, supports, lifts-up
And redirects the lives of at-risk youth.
One of which each of us forms a part, as individuals and as a group.
Building a stronger future: Stronger fabric. Stronger lives.

Give them just one thread of confidence.
One thread of a helping hand.
One thread of a new life.
So, they can see their threads of promise.
