We are so excited to welcome Colleen Cronin to the Fashion Denver family! Collen will feature her line of handcrafted jewelry that exude elegance and beauty.

What was your first memory of fashion inspiration that you can remember?

My first memories of fashion inspiration were playing dress-up with my mom’s jewelry, makeup and clothes; and my Barbies!

What motivated you to start your own fashion business?

I always had fun making jewelry for myself and my friends, and one Christmas after making hand-stamped necklaces for my best friends I decided I wanted to start my own business.

What inspires your designs?

There are places that have always connected with my soul and the simplicity, beauty and pure awe of those places has always inspired me to create unique pieces that attempt to capture the essence of something so profound with so much meaning.

Sizzlin’ 6 with Chelsea Bashford, Forever Stranger

I ran into Chelsea Bashford earlier this month and perused her pop up Forever Stranger that she had at Dateline. Every item that she carried was a true treasure that brought back memories. Chelsea and I have known each other from around town, but now we actually get to spend some together as she pops up at our Fashion Denver 13th Anniversary Bonanza!

What inspired your pop up?

Forever Stranger is about creating an environment where people can find clothing soulmates and play dress up.  It all started in my living room where I’d invite everyone over to listen to music and try on clothing.  It was fun.  It was weird. People loved it.

Since then Ive had pop up shops in a variety of space including galleries, venues, and DIY Spaces in Denver, Austin, and Los Angeles and it’s always a great time.

Sizzlin’ 7 with Duane Topping

What was your first memory of fashion inspiration that you can remember?

That memory really wasn’t that long ago.  My love for fashion didn’t show its head until later in life.  I do remember reading everything fashion I could get my hands on while I was deployed in 2003.  I had big dreams of becoming fashion editor and I built a collection of garments I liked and ones I didn’t taking note of why.  I still do that today.   The difference now is I get to make my own fashion.Read more!

Sizzlin’ 6 with Serana Rose

We are so excited to have this talented artist, designer and performer at our Fashion Denver Anniversary Bonanza! Serana Rose is  such a colorful and unique individual and to see her personality shine in the designs she makes will surely add a splash of color to our event!

What was your first memory of fashion inspiration that you can remember?

My infatuation with unique fashion began during childhood.  I grew up on a angora goat farm where my mother taught me to sew, spin, weave, and card fibers.   These skills were useful in toy making as a kid, but when I got older I found a way to apply these skills to what I really love…making awesome clothes and accessories!

When I was about 10, I started obsessing over models flaunting gorgeous costumes in high fashion magazines.   I went to my first fashion show as a preteen.  Seeing these extraordinary handmade costumes and confident women sparkling on the runway changed the way I looked at wearing clothes. I saw this as a great form of self-expression and discovered that through fashion I can transform myself into all sorts of magic.

My mother supported this new found love.  She and I Read more!
