2) Mission of business 

Be Curious. Be Authentic. Be Creative.

We make art so you can wear it. We are uber inspired by originality and are here to help you be your you-est you.

3) How is your product  / services helping the world be more green or sustainably conscious? 

We use eco-friendly water based inks that are all CPSIA compliant and are handled and disposed of in a responsible manner. We use recycled materials for our packaging and shipping whenever available.

All our products are fair trade and our fabrics are sourced from eco-friendly and sweatshop free organizations. We donate a “drop” of proceeds to Drop in the Bucket, which is an independent non-profit organization that provides sustainable solutions to the water crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa by building wells and sanitation systems.

4) What do you hope to get out of ReUP?

I think what we are looking forward to most is the opportunity to showcase how doing business in a responsible way is actually more fun and fashionable.

Q: What is your business name?

A: Equillibrium  

Q: Mission of your business?

A:  BUSINESS MISSION STATEMENT (word for word written in 1998, still applies today) Equillibrium is a female rider owned and operated business. We provide consumers with ethically fabricated and uniquely branded street wear. The original style, textiles, and detailing on Equillibrium products are what set them apart from competitors. We take pride in our customer service, professionalism, and competence displayed by Equillibrium representatives. In addition, the company’s business ethics applied in operations will set a standard in the clothing manufacturing and textile fabrication markets.

Q: How is your product  / services helping the world be more green or sustainably conscious?

A: Equillibrium has been a trail blazing brand since its conception. Through perseverance, consistency, and longevity we know our reach has and will broaden. By being active with consumer education and walking the talk is our best contribution towards sustainability in all aspects of life. An alteration in behavior is 98% of what is required for change. Education is the only provider of context to invoke a change in behavior.

ReUp Designer Edith Muyinda

In just 10 days, we will be holding our fall fashion market the ReUP at Green Space (1368 26th St, Denver, CO). Here is our first interview from one of our designers featured in the market, Edith Muyinda.

Q: What is your business name?

A: Byasima Couture

Q: What is the mission of your business?

A: To create chic gowns for curvy women.Nov Fashio show pic 1

Q: How is your product / services helping the world be more green or sustainably conscious?

A: I am interested in promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly products. I chose to use products that can be recycled or natural materials. I want to promote the idea that in fashion we can use our imagination to be green by recycling everyday products into fashionable dresses. For my next designs I plan on using recycled fish nets and sea shells collected from beaches.

Q: What do you hope to get out of ReUP?

A: I want an opportunity to showcase my creativity; meet fashion designers and learn more about other ways to keep our environment clean.

Fashion/Culture 2.0

Denver, CO Saturday October 24th

Last Saturday, Lynn (our graphic design intern and photographer) and I rolled up VIP to the Tivoli Student Union center for the Fashion/Culture 2.0 show. Sponsored by Metropolitan State University, El Salon, Tivoli Brewing, Reed Art & Imaging, and Shine Graphic Design, the evening entertainment featuredIMG_7294 a fashion show by El Salon, Charlie Price, Leon Designs, and Fancy Tiger, with a silent auction, cocktails, and music. The event was also a fundraiser to support colorado photographic arts center.

The show started by teasing the audience, with the models behind a screen only displaying their shadows. Next, everything went dark and nobody had any idea what was coming. That was my favorite thing about this show, I couldn’t predict or even try to image what or even where anything was coming from next! Each designer displayed unique yet very edgy styles all entering from different starting points, again something I also loved because it showed even more of the designers artistic style apart from the clothing.
