They also integrate the original green method to sustain their business. With constant power cuts and limited resources, they have tailored and mastered traditional weaving and printing methods. They use recycled papers and fabrics for their packaging, which reflects noble craftsmanship. Use of plastics is minimal to none.

Spring Fashion Market Designers: MKaltenbach

We’re excited to announce another designer that will be featured in the Spring Fashion Market, Megan Kaltenbach with MKaltenbach!

Megan started designing jewelry during her free time while she was a full-time model living in the photo-2-1-copy-300x224Financial District in Lower Manhattan. While working in front of the camera and at many showrooms in MYC, she became very interested in the fashion scene and started following and keeping up with the new trends. In May of 2010, she started making necklaces to fulfill her love for fashion.

She soon started wearing her designs around NYC and on fashion shoots, getting feedback from the rest of the New York fashion scene. After receiving requests for more of her necklaces, and fulfilling a few custom requests, Meg realized the passion she had for designing and creating jewelry.

Megan’s pieces are 100% original, providing the highest level of craftsmanship and fashion to her customers. She hand picks each stone and chain used to ensure every product sold is up to her standards. Each agate stone is examine for layers of colors, rings and/or crystals to ensure the highest quality. Every piece in the catalogue is selected, designed, and hand made by Megan.

Spring Fashion Market Designers: LoHi Bags

We are excited to announce another designer apart of the Spring Market, LoHi Bags! LoHi bags are handmade for the modern girl. They are designed and are made locally in Denver, CO.

LoHi Bags was established in 2009 in the Lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver, a diverse urban community, right near downtown. Products are made with as much up-cycled or repurposed material as possible. This includes leather jackets, belts, upholstery scraps, vintage zippers, belt buckles, etc. We’re a big fan of sourcing materials from local thrift shops that support social good, such as Arc and Goodwill. Ralph’s Power Sewing in Jefferson Park is our favorite neighborhood supply shop. The leather we use is stylish and weathered, but that is the beauty of it. Each bag has a history.

The aesthetic is very simple and functional design, mixing neutral fabric with little pops of color, like a bright green zipper, colorful lining or hot pink stripe. The bags are made one-by-one without the use of patterns, so the design and construction process is pretty organic. They have an urban/bohemian vibe that fit the neighborhood, and they are one of a kind.
