“Colorado nonprofit hosting fundraising party to raise money and support to open the first emergency shelter for underage girls rescued from sex trafficking.”

Sex trafficking in minors is an increasing problem that is beginning to come to light and community awareness is on the rise. Homeless Denver youth are at great risk of falling victim to traffickers. A child on the streets can be desperate to have even their most basic needs met. Many of these children are running away from abusive and broken homes. Within 24-48 hours of running away, 1 out of 3 teens will be approached by a trafficker.

It’s difficult to find these children and even when they are “rescued”, there are very few options for their treatment and housing. Currently, there is no emergency housing set up specifically for underage girls once they are rescued by law enforcement. Emergency housing that is open 24/7 is much needed, so that these victims don’t find themselves in detention centers, jail or homeless again.

Since the inception of the Denver County Fair, I’ve managed the fashion pavilion and what a hoot it is have fashion at the fair! Read a note from fair creator Dana Cain! Sign up early and be part of the fun!

Dear Designers, Stylists, Shop Owners and Fashionistas,

Denver County Fair’s Early Bird Rates end this Wednesday!

Pay just $350 for a 10 x 10!….Or $175 if you’re a non-profit! Rates go up after Dec. 31st!

jpegThis year, the Fashion Pavilion is MOVING to a central, high-taffic location, between the Art Pavilion and the new Home Pavilion! We’re also CHANGING THE NAME to “Style Pavilion” to incorporate fashion, beauty, hair make-up and other aspects of personal style! The incomparable Brandi Shigley of Fashion Denver is still at the helm!

The new Style Pavilion will also utilize (and connect to) the Main Stage now – by the Gazebo area!

The 5th anniversary 2015 Denver County Fair will be another highly publicized national event, as we unveil our groundbreakingly adorable new KITTEN PAVILION! You don’t want to miss this one!  (The Kitten Pavilion will be close to the Style Pavilion – in the old Fashion Pavilion’s location, in fact!)

Help-Portrait with Warren Village, Studio Salon and Dave Sands

We are so excited to partner up with Warren Village, Studio Salon and Dave Sands for the December 6th Help-Portrait! Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers, hairstylists, and makeup artists using their time, tools, and expertise to give back to those in need.

We have selected Warren Village to be the organization that we work with and with our neighbors a half block away at Studio Salon, what a perfect opportunity to put to use the talent that is right on our own block of Bannock Street!

Warren Village exists so low income, single parent families can achieve
sustainable personal & economic self-sufficiency.

On Saturday, December 13th, the Ily | Iley team, consisting of best friends Bailey Lemak and Ilyse Mark, bring their shared passion for fashion and covetable vintage to the Golden Triangle in a unique holiday shopping experience at the Fashion Denver headquarters. Shoppers will be able to pop down to 1070 Bannock Street in the Golden Triangle from 10:00am-6:00pm and avoid the crowds at the mall while buying truly unique fashion pieces.
