Men’s fall fashion trends by Amayas Gonzales

Men’s fall fashion trends
By Amayas Gonzales

Finally autumn, layering and beautiful coats are on the rise and we are excited. Although I am not a man, these trends are popping up in streetwear, GUCCI and even Hermès. I am so excited to see more color in men’s fashion, as it is usually brown and black but we are now seeing bright plaids, yellow pants and shiny cowboy boots. This is a list of the most popular trends around the world.

1) Plaid Everything

Plaid is the pattern you want and need for the Fall season. It was showcased on multiple runways, the most memorable being Versace. We saw plaid pants, shirts and bags. These pieces can be worn as a pop of color or as an accent to even more color.

2) Colorful Denim

Red.Yellow. Blue. Black. Overalls, Coveralls, chicos, corduroy, skirts and even jackets. Colorful denim is so in right now, especially paired with an extra long belt and chunky shoes. This trend is definitely more stylized in streetwear and for giving a pop of color to any outfit.

3) Doc Martens

Black, Simple and Iconic, Doc Martens are a must for the fall season.

This fashion camp is inspired by a fashion show that I co-produced in 2007 called The Fashion Project. For one of the fashion challenges, each of the designers received the exact same materials to design with. The outcome was incredible!

We’ll be taking this concept and the creativity will fly as our campers go to work on their designs, learning how to make a simple no-sew dress. create fringe and use other creative materials to design their outfits.

We’ll have special guests from the original 2007 Fashion Project including designers … Read more!

Freddie Mercury AIDS Quilt Panel part of Red Ball Fashion benefit

Red Ball launches World AIDS Day awareness with the display of AIDS Quilts created for Freddie Mercury, from the Band Queen, and renowned artist Keith Haring. The panels are part of the National AIDS Memorial Quilt and will be on display the evening of Red Ball, Sunday November 18 at the EXDO event center.

In the 1980’s AIDS claimed the lives of designers, including Chester Weinberg, Perry Ellis, Willie Smith and many more creative men and women in the fashion industry. Beyond the designers, showroom assistants, stylists, photographers, creative directors, window dressers, lost their lives to AIDS. In an article by Kam Dhillon on how AIDS impacted the fashion industry he said “an entire generation of creativity (was) completely decimated. In 1980s New York, fashion was the city’s second-biggest industry and these people were its pulse. AIDS touched the lives of nearly everyone in the fashion industry.”

For 10 years Colorado Health Network’s Red Ball Fashion Benefit has collaborated with local designers and salons,
