Two Denver women make a difference locally and internationally, dress by dress

UrbanAngelsDenver, CO (June 1st, 2016)-Showers of Blessings, the 2nd annual dress drive for Haiti and the Jeffco Action Center, takes place Sunday, June 12th 2016 from noon-3pm atStudio Salon located at 1135 Bannock Street. Peggy Kastning and Mary Martinez, brains behind the Urban Angels, have been serving the homeless community around Denver and spreading positivity and light. After seeing a program about the needs in Haiti, they both wanted to expand their positivity and hope.  A major realization occurred, they could both, help by making dresses for girls in Haiti, and continue to help families locally.

“It’s exciting to know that each one of us can make a difference in the world. With our love of sewing and our hearts for humanity, we can combine these two passions and help those less fortunate.” says Peggy Kastning of the Urban Angels.

Marie-Margot Bridal Couture Announces Launch of Indiegogo Campaign

DENVER,CO – Maggie Burns of Marie-Margot Bridal Couture is thrilled to announce the launch of a 30 day Indiegogo Campaign, aimed at raising funds to produce a new ready-to-wear bridal collection, beginning today. The campaign seeks to raise funds to allow for Burns’ eight-piece collection of unique gowns to be manufactured en mass and sold out of bridal salons across the country. The campaign’s main goal is to allow Marie-Margot Bridal to take samples of the eight gowns to the National Bridal Market in Chicago from September 8th to the 11th. MOPS Fashion Show Fundraiser

26621349792_db0d95cf4c_zDarling! A Fashion Fundraiser was held Thursday, April 14th at the exquisite Palazzo Verdi in Greenwood Village, CO. Delicious dinner by Epicurean Catering was provided as well as a fashion show featuring local MOPS moms modeling the Evereve Spring line.

What an incredibly inspiring  and beautiful event this was. We often think of fashion as the city woman, dashing down the street in stilettos but fashion is so much more than that! Fashion is for everybody including MOTHERS and this fashion show was all about celebrating motherhood, friendship and empowerment.

Before the fashion show began, we watched a heartwarming video about how MOPS has inspired and connected mothers, bringing tears to our eyes.  Although neither one of us that attended are mothers (or fathers for that matter), you could feel the love of family and community throughout the room.

We listened to keynote speaker Danielle Stangler, founder of Neet Cheeks, about her  journey following her dream and ending up in an interview on Shark Tank! Neat Cheeks are a flavored wipe for babies and toddlers (well… adults too! We each got one in our goody bag and I have been carrying them around with me using them all the time). Fashion Denver is a proud partner of the Urban Angels, just 2 women doing good! They have been such a support for Fashion Denver and it is wonderful to be part of their organization.

They have put together their 2nd annual dress drive to raise money for Love a Child, a non-profit organization that supports the children in Haiti. Each summer the Urban Angels make over 100 dresses to support the cause and their next event takes place on June 12th at Studio Salon! Click the poster to learn more!
