Byers-Evans House Theatre Company presents “An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe”

We are so excited to pass along the information for this spooky tale of adventure for our friends over at the Byers-Evans House Museum.  In case you don’t know, we hold our fashion markets at the Grant-Humphreys mansion and that mansion is in partnership with Byers-Evans. As much as we can, we raise money for the educational programs at these respective houses, to keep history alive and to keep children interested in our own history.

DENVER— The long-anticipated homecoming of An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe, presented by the Byers-Evans House Theatre Company returns to the Byers-Evans House, located at 1310 Bannock Street in Denver, October 14th with shows through November 5th. There will be a special Halloween performance on October 31st.

There is no better way to spend Halloween than with a scary story, and Edgar Allan Poe is the original master of the genre. Due to tremendous audience demand, this reader’s theatre favorite returns to the beautiful Byers-Evans House. With performances of Poe’s famous classics including The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, The Tell-Tale Heart and many others, An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe is sure to embody the Halloween spirit.

The show takes place in the library of the historic Byers-Evans House Museum, amid the Evans family’s furnishings. The room serves as the stage and creates the atmosphere appropriate to the historic nature of the readings. The museum has always supported local theatre by serving as a venue for various small companies. All ticket proceeds help support museum programs, operations and education.

October 14th, 15th at 7:30 P.M., October 16th at 2:30 P.M., October 20th, 21st and 22nd at 7:30 P.M, October 23rd at 2:30 P.M., October 28th, 29th at 7:30 P.M.,
Special Halloween performance October 31st at 7:30 P.M., November 4th, 5th at 7:30 P.M.

Open daily, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Closed Sundays.

Guided house tours 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Admission charged.
