Outfits Made of PAPER?! The Paper Fashion Show DFW 2018

March 26, 2018 – Who knew that paper could be cut, stapled, and put back together to make whole dresses and outfits? Friday, March 23rd, marked a day Denver fashion will never forget. The 14th annual ONE Paper Fashion Show challenged all preconceived notions that clothing has to be made out of materials like cotton with a thread and needle. From participants like various design students to local artists, partial proceeds from this event benefit the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts program. This organization helps provide after-school art programs for at-risk youth. Spicers Paper, along with other paper mills, donate and support these designers in their creative passions. Seemingly, fashion for a good cause can’t get any better, but when unconventional, paper outfits are apart of it, it can. Here are some of my favorite looks:

This dress was full of texture and 3-D elements that made it come to life in the most electrifying way. Designed by Unsung Wolves, this dress emulated my multiple armed sea friends and I felt like I was watching Ursula, from The Little Mermaid, come to life. The layering and depth was intricate and the flow of the hanging pieces followed the model like a … Read more!

Pretty up your Princess Leia buns; we’ve got an uhmazing space themed morning coming your way. #wecomeinpeace✌👽

Did you know that 1 in 4 Americans report having zero friends to confide in? It’s a scary stat, BUT what if we used this as rocketfuel for a collective mission to better embrace every being in the milky way?

On Wednesday, March 28th, spacesuit up and let’s fly away to better places. We’re on a mission to recolonize space with more love, more belonging and more DANCE. It all begins on the dancefloor at Temple (after all, change starts where you’re standing). We’ll have a pre-party option of yoga with Yoga Pod Cherry Creek OR fitness with The willPower Method (ooo decisions, decisions), then we’ll dance until we fill up the room with a level of love that’s lightyears ahead of the norm.

See you on the dancefloor. 💃

Denver Fashion Week March 18-25th

DENVER, COLORADO – This spring, Denver can officially say it has its own fashion week. Formerly known as Denver Fashion Weekend, 303 Magazine is happy to announce that it is launching Denver Fashion Week (DFW) on March 18-25. In addition, DFW is proud to say it is now partnering with Denver Arts & Venues, Visit Denver, Denver Art Museum and The Paper Fashion Show in an effort to grow the event.

“We recognize Denver Fashion Week as a well-primed step in supporting our fast-growing fashion industry in Denver and Colorado. The diversity of Fashion Week programming and dialog exchange will help to amplify Denver’s reputation for design on a national scale, while continuing to attract the attention of new audiences and growing the fashion industry through career-development,” said Lisa Gedgaudas, Denver Arts & Venues

With this announcement comes a huge new lineup of events, happening all week long. On March 18, our children’s fashion show returns that afternoon alongside a bridal runway show and the 303 Awards in the evening. Then, Monday through Wednesday, Denver Fashion Week will host industry workshops for models, boutiques and designers, as well as trunk shows, sales events and more. For these workshops, we will … Read more!

Luxe 303 Photoshoot

February 23, 2018 – What started off as a chilly, under-the-weather morning turned into a spunky day of unique fashion. I was lucky enough to shoot with Luxe303, an eclectic line forming from the heat of Miami flavor and tied into the earthy, urban tones of Denver. Their pieces are carefully constructed, distinct, and made for anyone to rock. Ever since I attended their show back in November, I was awe-inspired by their creative way of introducing Miami to the 303. I wanted to share some of the breathtaking photos and pieces I got to wear during the shoot.

This first look featured the “Feather and Lapel Dress.” Its mix of contemporary on top with party on the bottom offers the perfect dress to wear to a business event, a date, or even brunch with the girls. The feathered bottom is timeless yet still wearable, something that is hard to nail when dealing with feather details. Mastermind Dani Tado had the dress created in black, making it a sleek, classic look. When paired with the most adorable lace socks with a satin ribbon around the ankle and black patent heels, this look was so versatile and sophisticated.  This next … Read more!

Always Dying My Hair… Why?!

Hot pink, bubblegum, rose gold, magenta, lilac, icy blue, aquamarine, and silver. As crazy as it sounds, these are all of the colors I’ve ever dyed my hair. I will be the first to admit, it can come off as quite puzzling if you aren’t well acquainted with me. There are plenty of reasons I choose to dye my hair every color of the rainbow, these are just a few of them:

As it might become apparent, I am interested in the overarching realm of art. In my opinion, all things beauty and fashion related fall into the artistry category. It’s a tough thing for a multitude of people to understand because it is often misunderstood as something that requires little skill or intelligence. Being heavily involved in the industry myself, I can attest to the true talent and diligence it takes to become successful in the field. There are endless opportunities that can take you down very different avenues. From fashion marketing to hairdressing to becoming a makeup artist, you can find and pursue a career out of a diverse pool. For these reasons, this field has always sparked heavy interest with me, allowing me to become who I … Read more!
