SIE Phantom Thread Screening Party

January 10, 2018 – 1950’s everything was all the rage on Sunday evening when the SIE Film Center and Denver Film Society hosted a special screening of the movie Phantom Thread. Starring Daniel Day Lewis in the 1950’s London fashion era, he played a renowned dressmaker who crossed paths with a beautiful young woman, one that eventually changes his bachelor confirmed ways. Twists change the predicted plot line dramatically throughout creating an unforeseeable movie. Fortunately, we got to spend the evening with timeless fashion as styles hit the red carpet, daring all their best designer wear. Here are some of our favorite looks:

Kicking off the evening was the exuberant radio and TV personnel  Denise Plante. Her gorgeous vintage inspired dress was perfect to steal the spotlight in all night. The black mesh overlay created the perfect voluptuous flare to her tulle skirt. The white polka dots were the cherry on top; not to mention black and white polka dots are totally back in style RIGHT NOW! And she could never forget how important it is to make sure her dress spun perfectly under the right circumstances.

Join the Fashion Denver team for Fashion Camp 2018!! 

Fashion Denver’s fashion camps are designed to unleash the creativity for kids interested in the fashion world. With special guests from the Colorado fashion community to hands on activities in designing accessories and an outfit, our campers end the day with a walk down the runway in their design that they created.

We have an amazing crew of creative designers leading this fashion camp as Megan Timlin, Duane Topping, Tennisia Littleton, Ruth Peterson, Scott Young, Meredith Harris and the crew from Floyd’s 99 Barbershop bring creativity and fun to the day!

This one day camp includes the following:

Kindness coordination activity: This camp, I’ll be doing a “getting to know you activity” as an icebreaker for the campers get to know eachother, make new friends, share goals and fears, and most importantly, understand that fashion, beauty and style is from within and that each of them are beautiful human beings.

Come dressed in your best 1950’s or designer attire to this themed event, and walk the red carpet like a true celebrity! There will be photo ops on the carpet for all attendees, including big time prizes for the best costumes and fun drink specials at the bar.
