Over the past 15 years, Fashion Denver has served as a consultancy in the fashion world as well as having had a retail space (2007-2011)and producing countless fashion markets and fashion shows. 5 years ago, my mom Vicki, was diagnosed with a rare type of sarcoma cancer called Leiomiosarcoma. She has outlived her life expectancy and is continuing to be an amazing warrior! She has recently started chemo.
Flashback to a year ago….
My Grandma (my mom’s mom), had just turned 90 and a few months into being 90, her health began to decline. It was heartbreaking yet beautiful to be with my Grandma as she was nearing the end of her life. We truly had a special bond.

Brooks at the time of her diagnosis became friends with another Denver fashion icon, Sue Miller. Miller had started Colorado’s first breast cancer organization seven years before to give survivors a place and faces to talk to. Brooks like many survivors was private in sharing her diagnosis, but that didn’t stop her from celebrating life instead of fearing it.
When we had our first meeting, I fell in love with her style and energy and immediately knew that we needed her talents! For months, Sydney covered the latest events and trends out in our world. We’d head out to fashion events together where she would capture the highlights of the events, all the while having so much fun!
