Music, fashion and fun featuring amazing designers and a fun weekend of celebration!

Join the community for a 2 day of celebrating everything Gary Lee loved! Kicking off the event on Friday September 16th at 8pm we have Pretty Mouth and the Trade-Ins! Saturday we begin the festivities with the surf rock sounds of the Royal Aces, followed by a pin up fashion show put on by Equillibrium, and a pompadour and pin up hair contest with competing salons. After that we have the ridiculous shenanigans of the band Gravity Tapes. Around 6pm there will be a live auction (as well as a silent auction that runs through the day) with some very rare Gary Lee creations all benefiting Max Fund. Everyone knows how Gary loved his dog Clarence, who will also make an appearance. And closing, the have a DOUBLE HEADLINER with Kerry Pastine and the Crime Scene and the Nuns of Brixton.

GreenLeaf to Host Farm-Raiser Benefit Concert for Nonprofit Youth Leadership Program

Our Fashion Denver headquarters is located in an amazing warehouse full of entrepreneurs, one of them being GreenLeaf! They are doing amazing things and we are thrilled to celebrate with them! Mark your calendars for September 17th….

GreenLeaf, a Denver nonprofit, is excited to celebrate their recent move to the Park Hill neighborhood with the 2016 Farm-Raiser Benefit Concert featuring world dance band Pink Hawks. This family-friendly fundraising event will be held on Saturday, September 17th, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at The Art Garage at 6100 East 23rd Avenue, Denver, CO 80207. Proceeds will go to support GreenLeaf’s year-round youth leadership development, urban farming, and food justice programming. Early-bird tickets start at just $15 and can be purchased by visiting www.greenleafdenver.org.

Relevant Goods celebrates 1 year

Relevant Goods 1 Year Celebration

Denver’s source for clothing, accessories and gifts, Relevant Goods is on Broadway, in the Baker neighborhood will celebrate their first year in business next Friday. The event is a chance to shop, view the work of a local artist and celebrate a local business’ first year. Natalie Esquivel, owner of Relevant Goods, says “Relevant Goods is built on a balance of texture, ease and sophistication. It celebrates the urban and the earth in style.” The event is complimentary and open to all ages, no RSVP required. During the evening, Relevant Goods will offer small bites, cocktails and drawings for prizes and gift cards for the shop.

The evening also marks the opening of an art exhibition “Concrete Confetti” with local photographer and writer Risa Friedman. Risa documents architectural details and street art around Denver. Her art is marked with detail and color. Duane ToppingWhat were your obsessions growing up?

I’ve always been obsessed with art. It started out with my desire to be a cartoonist, then shifted to art history as I got older. Now, I love the artistic development of fashion. Seeing my art in motion is a wonderful experience.

How did fashion become the symbol for your creative expression?

After I retired from military service I had a difficult time adjusting to my new life. Numerous combat deployments took its toll. One day I bought a sewing machine and found my niche. Now, my clothes have become an expression of who I am. I’m a soldier, a biker, a feminist, a scholar, and an artist. Being a clothing designer allows me to embrace all of that at once.
