Their family pioneered the designing, production and export of Himalayan Cashmere and fine wool products in America, Canada, Europe, Dubai and many other countries.

They are committed to create responsible products. Individual artisans handcraft their products using traditional methods. The traditional method, the original green (no harsh chemicals, 10644982_1062389697110944_6196850264023710372_ndyes, etc.) method has helped them appreciate true craftsmanship. They also integrate the original green method to sustain their business. With constant power cuts and limited resources, they have tailored and mastered traditional weaving and printing methods. They use recycled papers and fabrics for their packaging, which reflects noble craftsmanship. Use of plastics is minimal to none.

When you purchase their products, you are supporting individual artisans and their families. Encouraging employment to the marginalized community and Fair Trade are the core values that they hold dear.

Spring Fashion Market Designers: MKaltenbach

We’re excited to announce another designer that will be featured in the Spring Fashion Market, Megan Kaltenbach with MKaltenbach!

Megan started designing jewelry during her free time while she was a full-time model living in the photo-2-1-copy-300x224Financial District in Lower Manhattan. While working in front of the camera and at many showrooms in MYC, she became very interested in the fashion scene and started following and keeping up with the new trends. In May of 2010, she started making necklaces to fulfill her love for fashion.

She soon started wearing her designs around NYC and on fashion shoots, getting feedback from the rest of the New York fashion scene. After receiving requests for more of her necklaces, and fulfilling a few custom requests, Meg realized the passion she had for designing and creating jewelry.

Megan’s pieces are 100% original, providing the highest level of craftsmanship and fashion to her customers. She hand picks each stone and chain used to ensure every product sold is up to her standards. Each agate stone is examine for layers of colors, rings and/or crystals to ensure the highest quality. Every piece in the catalogue is selected, designed, and hand made by Megan.

Spring Fashion Market Designers: LoHi Bags

We are excited to announce another designer apart of the Spring Market, LoHi Bags! LoHi bags are handmade for the modern girl. They are designed and are made locally in Denver, CO.

LoHi Bags was established in 2009 in the Lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver, a diverse urban community, right near downtown. Products are made with as much up-cycled or repurposed material as possible. This includes leather jackets, belts, upholstery scraps, vintage zippers, belt buckles, etc. We’re a big fan of sourcing materials from local thrift shops that support social good, such as Arc and Goodwill. Ralph’s Power Sewing in Jefferson Park is our favorite neighborhood supply shop. The leather we use is stylish and weathered, but that is the beauty of it. Each bag has a history.

The aesthetic is very simple and functional design, mixing neutral fabric with little pops of color, like a bright green zipper, colorful lining or hot pink stripe. The bags are made one-by-one without the use of patterns, so the design and construction process is pretty organic. They have an urban/bohemian vibe that fit the neighborhood, and they are one of a kind.

Spring Fashion Market Designers: Regal Rowe

As we prepare for the Spring Fashion Market, we will be introducing every designer or business that will be featured at the market! Just like we did for the Eco-Disaster Fashion Show, each week leading up to the market, we will give you a little taste of each designer or business. We are excited to announce the first designer, Sinath Jerome part of Regal Rowe.

Throughout Sinath’s life, she has been immersed in the design and construction of fashion apparel and accessories. From her earliest childhood memories of growing up in Cambodia, she has been intoxicated with the possibilities of molding color, texture and structure into the real-life product of her imagination. Now, under her brand, Regal Rowe, her passion is now vocation.

For Sinath, fashion design is the pinnacle of artistic expression, improved only by the close personal connection to the person wearing the finished creation. She is enamored with the design process as it is born through a vision through her mind’s eye, which she brings to life through her sketch process. This begins the steps of refinement of the garment as she tests the flow and styling on a drawn canvas. Once she has created a range … Read more!
