Colorado Fashion Week Announces Location and Dates
Denver, CO, September 4, 2011: Colorado Fashion Week has officially announced the dates and locations for Colorado’s premier week of fashion. CFW announced the inaugural event dates as September 27th, through October 2nd. The event takes place in the lobby of The Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre, at The Denver Performing Arts Complex, 1245 Champa St., Denver, CO 80204. Following the fall fashion week and biannual fashion calendar, the organization is planning on a spring show in April/May. The event is organized and produced by The JTA Group, amultidisciplinary talent, development, management agency and production company.
Colorado Fashion Week is a premier fashion industry and public event, dedicated to building an economically sustainable and highly respected fashion industry in Colorado. CFW gives designers a voice and serves as a launching pad for their business; it continuously works to establish critical business growth initiatives for its designers by mentoring, training and partnering with key industry entities like fashion buyers, showrooms, magazines, fashion stylists, editors and more.
The schedule of events includes The Business of Fahsion workshops during the day with an official opening ceremony and reception on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 at 7:00 pm. Following the opening show will be, The CFW 2011 Master’s Of Hair and Beauty Runway Show, featuring creations from CFW’s partnering beauticians and salons. Looks for the hair show will be inspired by the late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
In addition to the nightly fashion shows (doors opening at 6:00 pm), several VIP after parties are scheduled for each night. Rounding out the event on Sunday, October 2nd will be a free buyer’s market and pop up stores at Redline Art Gallery (2350 Arapahoe Street, Denver, CO).
“Our goal is to help position Colorado as an emerging fashion capital of the Rocky Mountain West region, by mentoring, presenting and promoting some of the best promising fashion talent the industry will experience in the next few coming years”, said Justice Kwesi Kwarteng, Colorado Fashion Week’s founder and executive creative director. Justice has assembled a diverse and talented team of fashion industry professionals, who are well respected in their respective areas of expertise, to help organize and execute the event.
