Saturday, July 25th we held our 2nd annual Fashion Camp at our new headquarters at Green Spaces down in the RINO district. We had 13 kiddos ages 7-11 and what a blast we had!
A HUGE shoutout goes to Back on the Rack, Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls, and Toys, and Lowbrow Denver!
Here is an overview of our day of fashion fun!
It was so much fun to hear about Michael Sullivan’s experience in the fashion world, diving in with all of his passion and making his dream come true.
After the designer talk, we dove into making fashions for old dolls from the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys. These dolls needed major makeovers!
After the dresses were made, we got into making paper purses. My paper purse career was how I first got into the world of fashion back in 1983. Making these paper purses turned into a real business when in 1999 I started B.Shigley designs. It was so fun to see the creations that the campers designed!
Now! We’re off to the boardroom to listen to Dorian Phaero of Phaero Creative talk about STYLING! Dorian shared how to style keeping in mind the other person’s interests, comfortability level, and much more! They campers listened contently as Dorian shared his expertise.
A HUGE thank you to Back on the Rack for lending us clothing for this segment of our fashion camp!
NEXT! To walk the runway! Or in our case… the alleyway!
What a fun day we had! It was such an amazing experience to see these fashionistas in action, collaborating, creating, and most of all having fun!
I think we’ll do another fashion camp in December! Stay tuned!!
