On Sunday, May 17th from 10:00am-5:00pm, Fashion Denver will celebrate spring and Denver’s history at the Byers-Evans House Museum (located at 1310 Bannock Street) by hosting the spring fashion market “Enchantment.” This shopping extravaganza will feature a small selection of local designers and boutiques at the historical home built in 1883. Enchantment is free and open to the public.
“We have lots of new up and coming businesses in this market as well as some veteran Fashion Denver designers. I really appreciate the diversity at this spring market.” says Brandi Shigley, founder of Fashion Denver.
This market will feature couture hot off the runway designs, elegant bridal dresses, unique upcycled handbags, jewelry, scarves, a multifunctional swimsuit design, on the spot henna design, and even a VW bus where guests can make jewelry. Enchantment will showcase a plethora of creative fashion.
3 fashion shows will grace the sidewalks at noon, 2, and 4 while musical entertainment and croquet will add to the spring festivities. Iced tea and tea sandwiches will be served to keep the energy of history and elegance on the premise of this beautiful home located in the heart of the Golden Triangle next to the Denver Art Museum.
The Byers-Evans House was built in 1883 and was home to two prominent Denver families, William Byers (founder of the Rocky Mountain News and William Evans, son of John Evans, second territorial governor of Colorado). Most all of the belongings in the house belonged to the Evan’s family and when the last family member passed away, the contents of the home were given over to History Colorado. This house is full of stories and adventures, and Fashion Denver hopes that the Byers and Evans families would be thrilled to see such beautiful fashions and adventures on their lawn and in their courtyard.

“I’ve been in love with the Byers-Evans house for several years and with it being just 2 blocks from the Fashion Denver headquarters, I thought it would be the perfect place to highlight our local fashion and a little bit of history in Denver!” says Shigley.
