1) When did you first realize your passion for the beauty industry?
Growing up my mother worked at a salon in North Dallas. I would spend many days during the summer helping out around the salon while admiring all the beautiful transformations that happened daily. I’ve always found joy in bringing women confidence they forgot they had, it always came naturally to me. Choosing a career in the beauty industry was a no brainer when the time came.
2) What has been your path thus far in your career?
I got my cosmetology license just after my senior year in high school and spent 3 years going back and forth between doing hair and makeup. I discovered and fell in love with individual eyelash extensions in 2012. Shortly after becoming certified, I began working for Xtreme Lashes as a Corporate Lash Stylist, where I assisted in product development, quality control and troubleshooting. It didn’t take me long to realize I wanted to pass this skill on to others and became a national trainer. Nowadays you can find me in Cherry Creek at Live Love Lash, where I take clients Monday-Friday, and travel for trainings on the weekends.
3) You recently moved from Austin to Denver. What difference are you seeing in our fashion world here in Denver?
In general, both cities have a very similar sense of style when it comes to fashion. Denver fashion seems to be a little bit more casual, especially when it comes to going out.
4) How would you describe your own personal style?
I tend to gravitate towards black when it comes to clothing. In general, I wear clean lines and like to dress in casual, transitional clothing that I can dress up or down depending on the occasion.
5) What is your favorite part about your job?
My clients! I have built such wonderful friendships, they make coming to work everyday exciting. Also, we have such a great team of talented and caring women. I wouldn’t be successful if I weren’t surrounded by positive and encouraging coworkers.
6) What 3 things would you take if stranded on an island?
The 3 things I can’t live without:
