I have been exceptionally eager to meet Maggie Burns for quite some time now, so when Brandi and I made a quick trip to her Bridal Studio, let’s just say I was beyond excited.
Maggie Burns is the owner and designer of Marie-Margot located in Denver, Colorado.
Her designs have been seen on the runway, on fashion shoots, and have graced the red carpet at the Academy Awards. Maggie Burns was named the Rising Star in the Bridal Category from Fashion Group International of Denver back in 2011, and has now added yet another notable accolade to her already impressive résumé. This summer she was contacted to make costumes for the upcoming film “Dear Eleanor,” starring Jessica Alba, Luke Wilson and Josh Lucas. The film was being shot at the Jester Theatre in Boulder, CO and at the Paramount Theatre here in Denver. The movie follows the story of two teenage girls (Liana Liberato and Hunger Games’ Isabelle Fuhrman) traveling across the U.S. in 1962, during the chaos of the Cuban missile crisis, in search of Eleanor Roosevelt. The movie is set to hit theaters in 2014.
Maggie Burns is a local celebrity here in Denver, yet she remains incredibly kind-hearted and humble. We had the best time hanging out with Maggie and can’t wait to catch this film and brag about how we know the costume designer for it.
Maggie Burns is breaking out of her typical realm and is designing an entirely unique line with Anna Festa for Red Ball on December 1, 2013. Her collection with Anna Desta will be super edgy and it absolutely can’t be missed (trust us!).
Oh, and Maggie Burns is helping add a little pizzazz to the outfit Brandi will be rocking at Red Ball in December! We love Maggie Burns!
