Megan Kaltenbach transitions from sports star to model to designer;
will release new jewelry line in June
Colorado designer Megan Kaltenbach is proud to release her new jewelry line on Sunday, June 9th at Forest Room 5 (2532 15th St. Denver, CO 80211). The public is welcome to come enjoy Forest Room 5’s outdoor patio, grab a drink with friends, and check out beautiful and unique designs from Megan’s jewelry company, MKaltenbach. This summer affair will take place from 2-6 PM.
In April 2011, Megan launched her jewelry company, MKaltenbach. Her jewelry is inspired by her home state of Colorado and passion for the outdoors, and features agate, amber, turquoise, and other natural stones. Megan selects, designs, and hand makes each of her beautiful statement pieces. MKaltenbach jewelry has been described as earthy and Western, and Megan’s love for her home state is reflected in each piece of her jewelry.
Megan was born in Seattle and moved to Centennial, CO when she was four years old. Growing up Meg was a two-sport athlete, competing in soccer and track. Early on it was clear that she was a natural runner, in just her freshman year of high school Megan won a state championship in both cross-country and track, and by the time she graduated from Smoky Hill she had collected 14 State Titles. Her success in track and cross country led to an induction into the Colorado Women’s Sports Hall of Fame and a scholarship to the University of North Carolina, where she was a 2-time NCAA champion.
After graduating, Megan moved to New York to pursue a career in modeling. While working with high profile clients such as Cosmopolitan, Acne and Marlies Dekkers, she became drawn to the design aspect of the fashion world and started experimenting with creating handmade jewelry as a hobby.
Eventually Megan decided to design and create her own jewelry full time, and MKaltenbach was born. Incorporating her passion for design and knowledge of fashion with her Colorado roots, Meg has created a unique look, combining high style with Western chic.
“After being so focused on athletics it is great to focus my energy in a new, creative way,” she remarks.
To meet Meg and check out her brand new line, as well as enjoy a glorious summer evening, stop by Forest Room 5 on June 9th from 2-6 PM.
