Denver Fashion Weekend Night #1

This past weekend 303 Magazine hosted Denver Fashion Weekend. On Thursday April 3, the event kicked off with a street style fashion show. The multilevel venue, near city hall was perfect for a fashion show.

The show highlighted three  DFW’s sponsors and allowed them to show off their Spring/Summer 2014 collections . Schomp Mini, associated with BMW’s Mini Cooper, went first showing a collection of graphic T’s and weekender duffel bags. Burton, a snowboard company, displayed their activewear collection ranging from shorts, T shirts and hoodies to backpacks and hats. Last but not least, Ducati, a motorcycle brand, wrapped it up by showing their collection of jackets and T shirts highlighting their brand name.

Fun at a Girls Night Out

This past Tuesday evening, I stopped by Porch Light Real Estate Group on S. University for a collective trunk show featuring Live Worldly, Hailee Grace, and Feline Swimwear.  This uber chic office was transformed into a mini boutique and I was able to get a sample of these 3 companies, all female owned and operated.  It was pretty much a “Girl Power” kind of evening with wine and snacks.

Trunk Show funOf course, since we are sponsored by Luna Bars, I brought over the latest and tastiest of protein bars making sure that the girls took boxes home for when they may get a little hangry (hungry-angry… oh wait.. is that just me?).

I tried on 3 different swimsuits and finally settled on mix and match top, florescent green, harkening back to my 7th and 8th grade years, but now, a little sassier. I felt like a teenager and a slumber party having so much fun gabbing with the girls and running around in my swimsuit.

Fashion Design CenterIn partnership with 303 Magazine’s Denver Fashion Weekend, FAD (Fashion Association of Denver) is inviting Colorado fashion designers to Spring Into Style by presenting one of their designs at the new Fashion Design Center!

Designers! One Design. One Model. Designers, you are responsible to bring your model or wear your own design or both.

This is the first official FAD event and it’s being sponsored by Fashion Denver, Fashion Design Center- Denver & the Fashion Arts Fund! Come and show your newest work for Spring 2014 and network with other fashion designers and industry professionals!

The Denver Fashion Truck and Judith and Joe will be parked out front for you to come and check out local mobile fashion.

Also, look for the Fashion Denver Beauty station where models can get their hair and makeup done by Fashion Denver stylist Erin Hickey. PLEASE NOTE: This is just a little makeup and hair quickie! Have the basics of makeup complete. Afterwards, have your photo taken on our red carpet!

sneakersFashion Denver is a proud promotional sponsor of the Spring DXC / Dunxkchange! With our love of sneakers, the Denver Nuggets, and Colorado cheer, this is an event not to be missed!

This Spring DXC/Dunxkchange will be making its way to Mile High in the form of a stampede of sneakers. April 12th music, art, fashion, & sneaker enthusiasts will gather at Pepsi Center with the Denver Nuggets for the opportunity to buy, sell and trade sneakers and clothing. Event attendees will receive access to the Dunkxchange that afternoon, Colorado All Star High School Basketball game and the Denver Nuggets Vs. Utah Jazz game that evening. This DXC will feature a lineup of vendors that represent clothing brands, artists, boutiques, and shoe collectors that are offering a variety of products and services. The DXC opens its doors to all and routinely houses and converts attendees to the coined phrase “Sneaker Heads.”

Stephanie is on the right track!

What an amazing fall we had with our intern Stephanie Rowe! We got so much accomplished as we closed out the year and started this year off on the right foot. Stephanie was responsible for assisting in the production of Red Ball 2013 and The Condom Couture fashion show in Boulder, not to mention her numerous blog posts about the events happening around the city.

Alas, the internship has ended and Stephanie, marketing and business savvy woman that she is, got a job working with Steve Madden. I am a sad girl without Stephanie, however, she will still be attending events and will always be part of the Fashion Denver family!
