The event challenges local artists to integrate the use of 3D glasses into their art. Come see what they came up with. The event features 3D reactive installations, paintings, sculptures and photographs. All of which are intended to be viewed with specific glasses available to all who attend. Later in the night a powerhouse of musicians will perform on stage a midst a reactive installation. Even the floors will have a visual illusion. Art ranging from $5 to $1000 will be for sale and participants will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the artist considered “best in show”. Denver Fashion Weekend Revisited

Denver Fashion Weekend 2013: A Model’s Perspective (Posted a little late but later late than never)…

Okay, so I was in a little bit of denial before, but I can finally accept it: Denver Fashion Weekend is over. And what an amazing event it was! I was honored (and a teeny bit terrified) to be chosen as one of the bodypaint models for the opening night of the event. I’d done bodypainting before, but never live in front of a crowd of people. But I love to step out of my comfort zone, and was excited to participate in one of the biggest fashion events in Denver.

The first thing I took note of as I arrived at City Hall was that there was water on the runway. My first thought: “That is SO FREAKING COOL!” My second thought: “…I really hope I don’t slip and fall on my face”. Excited and nervous, I looked around for my painters. Backstage, there were models getting their hair blow-dried to impossibly frizzy proportions, trying on their outfits, and chatting with each other. I finally found the bodypainting area and met my painters. They started right away, one of them painting my face … Read more!

The Great Gatsby

IN THEATERS MAY 10
Rated PG-13

From the uniquely imaginative mind of writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann comes the new big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby.  The filmmaker created his own distinctive visual interpretation of the classic story, bringing the period to life in a way that has never been seen before, in a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role.

“The Great Gatsby” follows would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks.  Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan.  It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits.  As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and … Read more!
