It was a complete whiteout outside, making a perfect platform for the whiteout that would ensue inside of the McNichols Building.<\/p>\n<p>Our night started just as any good night should \u2013 with a toast of champagne and good company. \u00a0The second annual <a href=\"http:\/\/microapp.westword.com\/whiteout\/2014\/\">Westword Whiteout<\/a>\u00a0benefitted the American Transplant Foundation and\u00a0was not only a chance for us to support the incredible Denver fashion scene, but it was also a time for us to celebrate our very own <a href=\"http:\/\/brandishigley.com\">Brandi Shigley<\/a>\u00a0whose designs would be featured in the fashion show.\u00a0 Cheers to that!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0524.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4402 alignleft\" alt=\"IMG_0524\" src=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0524-300x300.jpg\" width=\"243\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0524-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0524-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0524-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><\/a>We arrived at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcnicholsbuilding.com\">McNichols Building<\/a>\u00a0with snowflake accessories in our hair from the winter wonderland that was outside.\u00a0 The doors opened to a bustling scene of well-dressed attendees, specialty cocktails, delicious bites, and bumping music. We socialized with designers, chatted with stylists, snapped a few pictures and scoped out the elite fashion as we walked through the posh event.<a href=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0353.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4408 alignright\" alt=\"IMG_0353\" src=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0353-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0353-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0353-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once it was nearing 9 pm we made our way to our seats and eagerly waited for the start of the fashion show.\u00a0 I have to admit, I had read <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.westword.com\/showandtell\/2014\/01\/westword_whiteout_producer_and.php\">Jenny Baker-Strasburg&#8217;s<\/a>, (the producer and creative director of Westword Whiteout)\u00a0bio prior to this event, and was anxious and excited to see what she had up her sleeve \u2013 turns out she had a sexy Burlesque perfomance by Cora Vette and the Vavaettes up her sleeve to start the show \u2013 and let\u2019s just say from that moment on I knew that Jenny had high standards set for the night.<\/p>\n<p>The Burlesque dancers were dressed in all white, which was fitting for the opening performance at the Westword Whiteout.\u00a0 By the end of the performance the Burlesque beauties stripped down to their skivvies \u2013 letting it be known that Denver has arrived and isn\u2019t afraid to push any boundaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">*************<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0382.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4410 aligncenter\" alt=\"IMG_0382\" src=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0382-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0382-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0382-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>KITTY MAE MILLINERY &amp; TRUE LOVE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">First up in the Fashion Show were two of Denver\u2019s favorites \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kittymaemillinery.com\">Kitty Mae Millinery<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trueloveshoes.com\">True Love<\/a>.\u00a0 Anyone who knows me knows that I have an obsession with big fashionable hats and shoes, so this combination on the runway spoke strait to my well-styled soul.\u00a0 The models were dressed in black cocktail dresses and leggings to highlight the exquisite hats by Kitty Mae Millinery and the lust worthy pumps by True Love that made their way down the white runway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">*************<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0389.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4414\" alt=\"IMG_0389\" src=\"http:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0389-265x300.jpg\" width=\"265\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0389-265x300.jpg 265w, https:\/\/fashiondenver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0389-906x1024.jpg 906w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>B.SHIGLEY DESIGNS, PLUM SAGE FLOWERS &amp; TRUE LOVE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Next up was my favorite designer, (I\u2019m sorry if I am a little biased) <a href=\"http:\/\/brandishigley.com\">Brandi Shigley<\/a>,\u00a0with her B.Shigley designs.\u00a0 Brandi Shigley is a semi-retired handbag designer and Denver\u2019s notorious dreamer\/doer.\u00a0 Brandi\u2019s famous handbags were paired with gorgeous flowers from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plumsageflowers.com\">Plum Sage Flowers<\/a>\u00a0and were held by the beautiful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wilhelmina.com\">Wilhelmina models<\/a>. \u00a0The models\u00a0rocked Brandi\u2019s Do What You Love T-Shirts that were made into trendy crop tops. \u00a0The outfits were finished off with black leggings and pumps from True Love. My three favorite looks included, first, a male model wearing teal blue pants paired with a stylish zip up jacket from their Magic Plant collection that can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.akomplice-clothing.com\/mp-series\/collection.html\">here.<\/a>\u00a0My second favorite look was worn by one of the gorgeous Wilhelmina models who was dressed in an animal print tee with a leopard\u2019s face splashed across the front; paired with tight black shorts, leg warmers and pumps &#8211;&gt; I need this outfit. I got a sneak peak of her looks at the Westword Whiteout fitting a couple weeks ago and couldn\u2019t wait for her to show them off on stage. Combine edgy, sporty, and fashion and you have Mona\u2019s theme for this years Whiteout.\u00a0 Models showed off jersey inspired dresses with large numbers and lighting bolts. D\u2019Lola. D\u2019lola.\u00a0 Where do I start? \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dlolacouture.com\">D&#8217;Lola Couture<\/a> is the designer I look forward to most in every show.\u00a0 Deedee Vicory, the mastermind behind D\u2019Lola Couture, has done it many times before and did it once again at the Westword Whiteout 2014.\u00a0 Her wedding gowns would make even the most anti-marriage woman daydream about wearing these showstoppers.\u00a0 Lace, ruffles, tulle, satin, and the finest embroidering were only a few of the details that made these gowns so exquisite.\u00a0 The real showstopper and the most memorable moment of the entire show was the finale gown that graced the runway.\u00a0 I can say that this gown literally left the entire building speechless.\u00a0 With a train fit for royalty, a delicate floor-length and airy veil, and a mid waist diamond embroidered belt, this body-conscious gown was head-to-toe perfection. There are no words that live up to the beauty of this dress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">*************<\/p>\n<p>The after party was held at <a href=\"http:\/\/chloe-denver.com\">Chl\u00f3e<\/a>, the ritzy downtown club on Denver\u2019s famous Market Street.
