WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST MEMORY OF WHEN YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH FASHION?
I was four years old when I did my first runway show for a boutique in Phoenix. I’ve been hooked since.
WHO WAS THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE FOR YOU IN FASHION WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD?
Linda Evangelista
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE WORLD OF MODELING?
My grandmother introduced me to the runway and my mother got me into JCPenney catalogs as a child. So I would say the women in my life.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN MODELING THUS FAR?
Traveling to New York City with Megan Summerville was a blessing and a huge opportunity. It was my first time in the big city. We were able to help with a big runway show downtown, it was an experience of a lifetime.
Also being nominated for model of the year 2021 at the black excellence awards in Atlanta was an honor. It was a very emotional experience working hard modeling in the south.
I would also say that probably my most memorable and surreal opportunity was traveling to New York City and going to Coco Rocha’s model camp Fleet 54. It has always been my dream to be on the top with the big leagues. And I was so blessed to have this opportunity. I learned how to perfect my art. Also Watching Coco walk for Christian Serriano at New York Fashion Week was emotionally mind-blowing. Even though it was my backside, LOL, it made it into People Magazine that weekend (while going to her camp).
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE YOUR OWN MODELING SCHOOL?
I would say that dream started in 2003 my senior year in high school. I went to John Casablancas and I always thought that someday I would have my own modeling school or agency. But it wasn’t till about four years ago that I started to become serious about this idea and started helping out backstage in Atlanta, also working with locals in Colorado. Three years ago I discovered Coco‘s modeling school, and I made it a goal to apply. I have over 20 years of experience in the modeling industry and I wanted to perfect from the top professionals, I learned a lot from Coco and her husband and I was very blessed to have their advice.
WHAT DO YOU FEEL NEEDS TO CHANGE WITHIN THE MODELING INDUSTRY AND WHAT WILL YOU DO TO MAKE THOSE CHANGES?
Models being paid.
Working with other designers and talented artists to create a new platform to allow more shows that are beneficial to designers and models.
Example: My first production alone as Mayhem Productions, This was also my county’s first fashion show ever.“ Fremont Fashion Weekend “ I made sure all my models were paid, HMUA were paid. This also encouraged models to bring their A-game. Most designers sold pieces off the runway. It was a very good beneficial opportunity for all sides.
I would say safety and health in the industry. A lot of eating disorders, as well as abuse, happen and people are too afraid to come out about it. How I change this is to be an example and to talk about these things at my school, as well as in person. The importance of Model safety and healthy lifestyles often gets neglected. Being honest about my own battle with Health makes people more comfortable talking about their own. Some more education and directions of help.
I want to educate people on the dangers of trafficking, eating disorders, drug abuse, and predators and when to blow the whistle, and how to blow the whistle.

My grandfather would always tell me “that even if you were at the lowest lowest part of your life, maybe homeless on the corner; at a streetlight.. And you were holding your sign but you tried your best. Like owning a business and failing, or trying out your dreams and failing. At least when you are on that corner you can say
“ I’m glad I did it, Instead of “ I wish I did it”
Success isn’t always money, it’s experiences.
