A Decade in the Making: Maggie Burns’ Magical Wedding Dress

In the world of fashion, some connections are forged in the most unexpected of ways. A chance encounter, a shared passion, or even a deep appreciation for someone’s craft can create bonds that stand the test of time. For us at Fashion Denver, our connection with the incredibly talented Maggie Burns is one such story. Having known Maggie for over a decade, the promise of her designing a wedding dress had always lingered in the air. It was a promise I had hoped would eventually come to fruition.

Maggie Burns: A Familiar Face in Fashion Denver

Maggie Burns, brains behind Marie Margot Couture is no stranger to Fashion Denver. Years ago, we had the privilege of featuring her as a designer in our showroom and boutique. Her creations left an indelible mark on our hearts, and her dedication to her craft was evident in every stitch. We watched her flourish as she graced our markets and fashion shows, showcasing her beautiful dresses and alluring lingerie. Little did we know that our paths would converge again, this time for a very special occasion.

The Promise

The promise that Maggie would design a wedding dress had been made casually over the years. But as the years passed, it began to take on a more meaningful weight. The bond between Maggie and I grew stronger and when the moment had come that I became engaged, I knew that I wanted her to make my dress. The time had finally come!

A Dress Infused with Sentiment

For this unforgettable day, Maggie Burns took inspiration from a treasured relic: the lace from my mother’s wedding dress, a garment that had been cherished since 1968. Maggie’s vision was clear – she wanted to create a dress that embodied playfulness and comfort, perfectly matching my personality.

The Result: A Dress with a Dual Personality
The end result was nothing short of magical. The dress featured the delicate lace from my mother’s wedding dress, infusing the mini dress with sentimental value and a touch of timeless elegance. But Maggie had more in store. The dress was designed to be versatile, allowing me to transform from the traditional, radiant bride to a gal ready to celebrate! I like to call it my “Transformer Dress”!

The Transformation
As I gracefully walked down the aisle with my Daddy, my train trailed behind me,  the lace a testament to the enduring love that had passed from my mom and dad to me and my husband. But the magic didn’t stop there.

As the reception kicked into high gear, I effortlessly removed my bustle, transforming my dress into a more manageable, dance-worthy and band performance ensemble. With a simple fascinator adorning my head, I transitioned from the bride to the happiest wife ever ready to partay!!!

The wedding was a day to remember, not just my husband and I but for everyone that we got to share this day with. Maggie Burns had delivered on her promise in the most spectacular way possible. Her artistry had breathed new life into a cherished family heirloom, and I had never felt more comfortable and radiant.

In the world of fashion, connections run deep, and promises are meant to be kept. Maggie Burns had not only fulfilled a decade-old promise but had also created a dress that encapsulated the essence of my bridal journey – from cherished tradition to vibrant celebration. I am a testament to the enduring power of fashion and friendship. Maggie Burns, you are truly a magician with fabric and thread. Thank you for making my day truly special! I love you!!
