Adoptee Journeys of Belonging: Stories That Bring Us Home

Sometimes the most powerful stories are the ones that help us understand where we came from… and where we belong.

On Sunday, March 29 from 4–6 PM at the Posner Center, Colorado Asian Pacific United (CAPU) and Motus Theater will present an incredibly moving event: Adoptee Journeys of Belonging, an interactive Playback Theater experience centering Asian adoptee stories across cultures, generations, and identities.

This unique performance invites audience members to share moments of belonging, displacement, identity, and connection. The Motus Playback Theater Ensemble listens deeply to these stories and then brings them to life through improvised theater right on stage.

It’s storytelling in its most human form. No script. Just listening, reflection, and honoring lived experiences.

The result is a powerful evening where stories are witnessed, affirmed, and shared.

Celebrating 22 Years of Community & Creativity

A Little Fashion Denver Throwback
Fashion Denver is turning 22 years old this year! 🎉

Looking back through old videos and photos always feels a little like opening a time capsule, and this clip takes us all the way back to one of our very first Fashion Denver Fashion Markets around 2007.

At that time, the fashion scene in Denver was a lot quieter than it is today. There weren’t as many runways, pop-ups, or design collectives lighting up the city. But even then, something special was already happening. The creativity, the hustle, and the passion of local designers were alive and well.

Fashion Denver was built around a simple idea: support local designers and create space for them to shine. These early markets were filled with emerging designers, handmade pieces, curious shoppers, and a whole lot of excitement about what Denver fashion could become.

Over the years, it has been such a joy to watch our community grow and evolve. Designers who once showed their very first pieces at these small markets have gone on to build incredible brands, walk major runways, open boutiques, and inspire the next generation of creatives.

Denver’s fashion scene today is vibrant, bold, and … Read more!

2 Decades of design….

Hello 2026… How Did We Get Here?!

Holy moly. How are we in 2026 already?!

This year, Fashion Denver turns 22 years old. Twenty-two. That means this little fashion idea that started in 2004 is officially old enough to rent a car and make responsible decisions.

Established in 2004

Fashion Denver was founded with one simple goal: connect Colorado designers with the public — and with each other.

At the time, Denver wasn’t widely recognized as a fashion destination. But something was brewing. Independent designers were creating incredible work, and they needed a platform. A connector. A cheerleader. A place to belong.

So Fashion Denver stepped in.

Over the years, we’ve produced:
• Fashion markets
• Runway shows
• Designer showcases
• Business development programs
• Workshops and mentoring

We even had a brick-and-mortar boutique for four years — a physical home for Colorado design. And along the way, we helped launch Bradley Allen Apparel and ran the apparel line for six years, growing it from idea to full-fledged brand.

What started as a grassroots effort became a movement.

What is NIGHTFALL?

NIGHTFALL is a fashion prelude and wedding fashion exhibit inspired by the idea of a ceremony held after dark. Think dramatic silhouettes, intentional design, and romance with depth.

It’s a study in dark elegance, contemporary style, and love that feels thoughtful rather than traditional.

Instead of bright daylight and predictable white, this experience leans into shadow, texture, contrast, and confidence. It explores what wedding fashion looks like when you trade “expected” for “elevated.”
