Join RMCAD for a return to campus and the fashion runway!
It is so amazing to see students designers emerge and celebrate the work that they’ve been creating during their time at school! We are so excited to see this show!
Join us for a virtual RMCAD Fashion Design annual showcase on Saturday, September 25. There will be delectable refreshments, door prizes, and a celebration of our community as we recognize our graduating seniors and highlight their individual talents and creative directions.
This year we feature: Amaya Leverette, Refined Utility
Melissa Granado, Gothic Sophistication
Mikaela Greene, Punk Rock Elegance
In addition, we will also be introducing our up-and-coming student designers in a group segment entitled, “Gather.” Gather has many definitions including garment construction, assembling together, and collecting items or thoughts. Come and see how each of our students have interpreted this theme in their own creative way for their Gather-inspired designs.
We’re giving away tickets to the Westword Music Showcase and by posting a photo of you in your favorite festival outfit, you can win a pair of tickets! All you have to do is hashtag #fashiondenverfestivalfave and #WestwordShow by the 17th of September!
Here is what Fashion Denver intern Ayden would wear!
Outfit 1 Nothing says summer quite like a floral skirt with a cropped tank top, but even in the summer, it’s important to be prepared for any type of weather that can come our way. With the weather constantly changing in Colorado, this outfit is perfect for days where it can be a mix of sunshine, rain, clouds, and anything in between! A jean jacket is perfect for keeping warm while also staying comfortable and stylish, and it is simple enough to take off if it’s too hot. The pair of Doc Martens, or any other pair of chunky boots, provide your feet with some extra protection on a rainy day. The blue tank top and skirt add a pop of color to the outfit to keep the summer vibe alive
Outfit 2 Taking a pair of plain blue jeans is always a good starting piece in making … Read more!

Clock is ticking!
Let’s take a look what Maya’s wearing!
The Westword Music Festival will feature a variety of artists requiring a variety of fashionable fits to match. My gecko green outfit has nylon pants that are sure to keep me cool during the festival while still covering up from the sun with a hat for additional protection.
Made up of neon green this outfit is fitting for a lively music festival and sure to draw attention. My playful pink look has less coverage with a loose skirt and cheetah tube top so sunscreen is a must with this outfit. The Ed Hardy hat is a statement piece in this outfit as it ties together the early 2000’s Paris Hilton attire.
In case of a chilly or windy day, my final fit uses a heavier jacket with jeans, and a bandana to help keep my hair in place … Read more!

Denver’s Public Porch: Boutique review
By Ayden Ehlinger
Hundreds of people each day pass through the inventive RiNo District in downtown Denver observing the contemporary art galleries and music venues that express the creativity of Denver artists. It is fitting that within this hub for innovative creativity there are clothing shops that show off the creative geniuses of local Denver designers while also encapsulating the creativeness the RiNo district has to offer.
The Lions Share offers this aesthetic appeal to RiNo shoppers. Described as having Denver’s “public porch”, designer and owner of The Lions Share, Chuck Winfield uses his space to share the innovative designs produced by him and others. His line, Winfield clothing, along with other brands sold in the store gives a latter-day vibe to match the ambiance of RiNo.
Winfield started his clothing line right out of high school in Denver where he grew up being an avid skier. He is ambitious to market his designs to the public eye through The Lions Share and social media.
Winfield’s designs bring a new image to the world of fashion by reinventing old styles into his contemporary style. By altering different mainstream corporations, Winfield can … Read more!
Personally, I always found my style to be more accustomed to winter with long sleeves and pants, so summer can make it difficult for me to create an outfit that I feel truly encapsulates my own personal style.
After years of trying to build the perfect summer wardrobe, these pieces continuously bring me comfort and pride over the hottest months of the year. The light plain white shirt is perfect for any hot day and can match with almost any other clothing. The blue high-waisted mom shorts are comfy enough to wear almost every day. Of course, I could not go anywhere without my trusted necklaces and sunglasses, and the Nike Air Force and Fjallraven Kanken bag add bright and colorful elements perfect for the summer. … Read more!
