When were you first inspired to design? When I was 7, my mom had a crafting business. Back then, I hated every bit of it! But now I can’t live without it.

What will you be showing at Fashion Denver’s Holiday Market? Our handmade items for the home include:  Aprons, potholders, Christmas stockings, and s/p shakers. We will also have clothing for kids, men, and jewelry. The fabrics we use feature Dia de los Muertos, pop culture, sports, and comics; something for everyone.

If you had to pick one piece from your collection that most represents your personality, which would it be? This mother/daughter set is one of my favorites

Name: Heather Ng

Business: BOHEMI

When were you first inspired to design? I’ve always loved fashion, especially couture, I really wanted to make things that were eclectic, unique and well-made, so in 2006 I started to make clothes for a festival in the desert called Burning Man. I loved making clothes so much  I went to patternmaking and design school in San Francisco as well as fashion design school here in Denver. I’ve made clothes for myself and lots of custom pieces. Although I love making clothes, I found fit to be limiting. I decided to change course and in 2011 I signed up for a metalsmithing apprenticeship for a year in Boulder. I thought jewelry design would be a great use of texture, aesthetic and color that I utilized with fashion design. I’ve been in love with making jewelry ever since, and I feel I can reach more people with my perspective through this medium. Plus, you get to hit things with hammers, and that’s just awesome.

What will you be showing at Fashion Denver’s Holiday Market? I’ll be showing a wide array of jewelry from earrings, bangles, necklaces, rings, … Read more!

When were you first inspired to design? I’ve been making things my whole life, but it’s just in the past few years that I’ve branched out into design. I’m inspired by nature, the southwest and the stones that I work with.

What will you be showing at Fashion Denver’s Holiday Market? Handcrafted jewelry that features raw, authentic stones and vintage metals.

If you had to pick one piece from your collection that most represents your personality, which would it be? (Attach a picture) Zenith! It’s big and bold and I love that I can wear it with jeans and a tee or a party dress. It’s versatile, which suits me, and I love the hand-cut quartz stones.

Business: Iklektik Jewelry (Semi-Finalist of the RAWards)

When were you first inspired to design? I’ve always felt an urge to be artistic… I just never knew how to fully embrace it. I think jewelry design is such an amazing opportunity for me to be myself, have no rules or expectations… And it keeps me grounded. There is nothing that can compare to expressing your creativity.

What will you be showing at Fashion Denver’s Holiday Market? Handmade jewelry

If you had to pick one piece from your collection that most represents your personality, which would it be? Hmm. That’s an interesting question. My personality is very multifaceted and so are all of my pieces… I guess if I had to say which single piece best represents me, it would have to be Lilon. It’s bold, it’s one-of-a-kind…, it’s extremely different, outspoken and nontraditional. It’s meaningful and authentic. 🙂

When were you first inspired to design? I started making jewelery in 2006 to help fund my deep love for travleing and seeing live music. It turned into sewing and designing clothes in 2010.

What will you be showing at Fashion Denver’s Holiday Market? A wide array of up cycled clothing and accessories. As far as clothing I will have dresses, tops, sweaters, and wide leg pants. Accessories include detached hoods, shawls, infinity scarves, regular scarves leg warmers, arm warmers, bandanas, headbands, and belts.

If you had to pick one piece from your collection that most represents your personality, which would it be?  I would have to say the detached hoods. They were my first original design with a new chic and urban concept. They are very versatile and can be worn on pretty much any occasion. They are really fun to wear and always get a lot of compliments. I really try to have a wide variety of colors and patterns so everyone can find on that fits their personality! I forgot to mention most of the hoods are reversible so its like getting … Read more!
