Fierce in the City 5

Denver, CO – The fifth Fierce in the City event, featuring live music performances interactively with fashion runway shows, creating a uniquely fierce experience, will be held on Sunday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m.in the International Ballroom at Infinity Park Events Center, 4601 E. Kentucky Avenue, Glendale, CO. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit WomenGive, a United Way program that helps women achieve economic self-sufficiency. It is being produced by Denver-based Fashion Designer, Salwa Owens.

The show is created with Owens’ overall mission of empowering women and does so by not only giving back to WomenGive, but also by bringing real women from the community, including past and present WomenGive grant recipients, onto the runway in a segment called “The Real Women.” In addition, there will be a She-Powered Lounge, sponsored by Unforgettable Events Colorado, which will include a festive photo area as well as a place for women to learn about other women-powered businesses and upcoming events.

Musical performers will include Dana Monique, singer, songwriter, and The Voice Season 20 Top 17 Finalist; Devan Blake Jones, recording artist and American Idol Season 12 finalist; and Marlen Nahhas, opera singer and actress who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Kennedy Center, San Francisco Opera and more.

Owens will showcase collections of her own, as well as feature other established designers and stores. Guest designers and stores invited to have their own runway segments include bridal designer D’Lola Couture, leather and fur designer Andreas Tsagas, and womenswear designer Alejandro Gaeta. The show will also include hats by The Cow Lot, and fashions from Blue Ruby Boutique. Nationally acclaimed brands Kendra Scott, Scotch & Soda, and State & Liberty will also be showcased. The event will be emceed by Brandi Shigley, Founder of Fashion Denver; and Entrepreneur, Futurist and Activist Chris Ward.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for cocktail hour and red-carpet photos, a silent auction benefitting WomenGive, and a Kendra Scott pop-up shop which will give back 20% of the sales to WomenGive. The fashion show will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
