Embrace the Chill: A Guide to Staying Stylish in Winter

As the temperature drops and snowflakes begin to dance in the crisp winter air, it’s time to revamp our wardrobes and embrace the season with style. While the cold weather may pose a challenge, it also offers the perfect opportunity to showcase your fashion prowess. In this guide, we’ll explore some key tips to help you stay warm without compromising on style this winter.

Layering is Key:

The cornerstone of winter fashion is undoubtedly layering. Not only does it keep you warm, but it also allows you to experiment with textures, colors, and patterns. Start with a lightweight base layer, add a cozy sweater, and top it off with a chic coat or jacket. Don’t forget to play with contrasting lengths and materials to create a dynamic and visually appealing ensemble.

Elevate Your Outerwear:

Your coat or jacket is the first thing people notice during the winter months, so make it count. Invest in a stylish, high-quality coat that not only complements your personal style but also provides ample warmth. Statement coats, such as a classic trench or a faux fur number, can instantly elevate your look and make you stand out in the sea of winter fashion.

Invitation to Linger: Where art meets fashion

One of our biggest inspirations is seeing amazingly creative people come together in collaboration and this show looks to be amazing! Let’s learn about Invitation to Linger featuring a star-studded cast of Denver creatives!

Invitation to Linger shows at D’art Gallery, located at 900 Santa Fe Drive in Denver, from January 18 to February 12, 2024.

Can you provide an overview of the concept and vision behind this fashion mixed with art show?

Invitation to Linger explores landscapes, both interior and exterior. Inspired by memories, feelings, scenes, and experiences, the artists invite you to pause and enjoy. Works in acrylic and mixed media by James-Allan Holmes, Jenny Wilson, and Karla Raines draw the viewer in while they extend the surface out.

The artists invited two local creatives to enrich the visitor experience. The eye is delighted by art and fashion pairings featuring one-of-a-kind creations from Mona Lucero. Richly embellished jackets and headpieces intermingle with the paintings. Taste-maker Tammy Abramovitz brings an eye for stylish composition as guest curator. Tammy is known for arranging unexpected style elements in bold tableaus.

Brandi McMichael Takes the Reins at CreativeMornings Denver

Hey, Denver creatives! It’s me, Brandi McMichael, formerly Brandi Shigley – yahooooo, I took the plunge and got hitched! But that’s not the only exciting news I’ve got for you. In case you haven’t heard, I’ve officially taken the reins as the Executive Producer of CreativeMornings Denver. What started as a co-hosting and shadowing alongside the fantastic Dave Momper has now become a full-blown love affair with Denver’s creative community.

For those who know me as the founder of Fashion Denver, you know I’ve always been passionate about fostering connections within our local fashion scene. But now, I’m turning my attention to something that’s been brewing for the past year – CreativeMornings Denver. It’s not just an event; it’s a celebration of our city’s creative spirit.

For the uninitiated, CreativeMornings is the global creative phenomenon that brings cities together for monthly breakfast lectures. And Denver, my friends, is no exception. Each month, we gather at unique venues across the city, immersing ourselves in an inspiring setting while listening to speakers dive into a theme chosen by a fellow chapter somewhere else in the world.

Urgent Mission: Paddy’s Tree Emporium Illuminates Denver’s Darkest Corner with Joy, Just 10 Days ’til Christmas

With only 10 days until Christmas, Paddy’s Tree Emporium, a temporary Christmas tree lot with a profound mission, is set to bring light, joy, and the true spirit of Christmas to an area facing challenges of homelessness, addiction, and crime. Located at 2265 Lawrence Street, with the entrance in the alley directly behind Snooze, this unique initiative is the brainchild of local architect Patrick McMichael, owner of the lot where the trees stand, and Franklin Riley, an acclaimed Chicago artist.

McMichael and Riley collaborated to transform the backyard into a haven of holiday cheer. Utilizing industrial materials, the duo not only created a festive Christmas tree lot but also crafted a space that fosters community and togetherness during the holiday season.

Brandi McMichael, Patrick’s wife and founder of Fashion Denver, has taken on the role of infusing the Christmas spirit into Paddy’s Tree Emporium. The lot is more than just a place to purchase a tree; it’s a celebration of hope, joy, and unity.

In the spirit of giving back to the community, Paddy’s Tree Emporium has pledged to make a difference with every tree sold. Proceeds from each sale will go towards supporting two local nonprofit organizations – the Read more!
