Fashion Denver was thrilled to attend the electrifying DENVER ARTS & VENUES CULTURAL RUNWAY SERIES: CLICK, CLACK, SQUEAK fashion show, held behind the stage at the iconic Temple Buell Theatre. This unique setting provided a mesmerizing backdrop, offering a rare glimpse of the massive auditorium’s empty seats and grand stage from a whole new perspective!

The show itself was a feast for the eyes and a celebration of diverse footwear. Upon arrival, each guest was delighted to find a pair of chic sunglasses from Tami Smith of Eye Paparazzi, waiting at their seats – a stylish gift that added a fun, fashionable touch to the evening. The runway featured an eclectic mix of high-end shoe brands, personal collections, and stunning custom designs. From dazzling sneakers and towering heels to elegant cowboy boots, the variety was truly astounding.

Adding to the show’s allure was the incredible diversity of the models. Representing a spectrum of colors and backgrounds, the models also included a fabulous participant in a wheelchair, highlighting the show’s commitment to inclusivity and representation. At Fashion Denver, we believe in the transformative power of fashion and community engagement. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the Lion Project on their next service endeavor at Gust Elementary. Together, we’re working to create a market that will provide essential resources to low-income families in our community. Here’s how you can join us in making a difference.

Building the Market: What We Need

To ensure the market at Gust Elementary is fully functional and welcoming, we are collecting the following items:

  1. Shelving: To display food, clothing, and toiletries effectively.
  2. Clothing Racks on Casters: Easy mobility for flexible space management.
  3. Organization Bins: For sorting and storing various items.
  4. Shoe Racks: To keep footwear accessible and organized.
  5. Hangers (75 to 100): For hanging clothes neatly.
  6. Chalkboard, Chalk, and Erasers: To create a menu of available items for families, visible from the cafeteria side of the counter window.
  7. Hanging Baskets for Fruit Display: To present fresh fruit attractively.
  8. Bin of Reusable Bags: Pre-filled based on family needs, promoting sustainability.

Well hello there, fabulous Fashion Denver family!

I’m so excited to share some fantastic news with all of you! You know, after 20 years of running Fashion Denver sometimes a burst of fresh new energy creates all new inspiration! I’m so happy and honored to introduce you to two incredible people who have brought a whole new vibe to our fashion family: Mio Sison III and Glenn Blake Joseph.

First up, let me just say how thrilled I am to welcome Mio Sison III to the team as our rockstar photographer. Denver Fashion Week is here and we’re getting the scoop on a few of the designers that are showcasing!


With a legacy spanning decades in the fashion industry, Mona Lucero has become a revered figure in Denver’s design scene, and is a local staple. Known for her visionary creativity and unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries, Mona has continually inspired and delighted fashion enthusiasts with her unique aesthetic.

As longtime admirers of her work, we can’t wait to see the unveiling of Mona’s latest collection on the runway of Society Night at Denver Fashion Week.

What was the main inspiration behind your latest collection you are showcasing at Denver Fashion Week SOCIETY NIGHT?

There are a few themes – the butterfly which we often think of as pretty and sweet but there is a complexity to the butterfly in darker and more vivid colors that intrigue me. There is a resilience in the butterfly that’s often surprising. There’s also the theme of inner strength, relying on oneself to overcome and personal responsibility. I want to represent these ideas in this new collection.
